Verifiedวัดนิกรวราราม หรือวัดย่านยาว เริ่มสร้างใน พ.ศ. 2336 โดยคุณตาแก้วและคุณตาราม หลักฐานที่พบยืนยันปีและชื่อผู้ริเริ่ม แต่ยังไม่บอกเหตุผลเชิงรายละเอียดว่าตั้งวัดขึ้นเพื่อภารกิจใดโดยเฉพาะ จึงควรอ่านวัดนี้ในฐานะศาสนสถานของชุมชนท้องถิ่นที่กำลังก่อรูปในลุ่มตะกั่วป่า มากกว่าจะผูกเข้ากับเรื่องเล่าที่ไม่มีหลักฐานตรง
